We congratulate Sonaly Tomas and Sofía Vásquez Grados, both graduates of Bioengineering, who were selected to present a poster at the 46th Symposium on Biomaterials, Fuels, and Chemicals (SBFC) held in Alexandria, VA, USA by Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology. The research they had the opportunity to present is entitled : Improved production of modified bacterial cellulose hydrogels for Pb adsorption. In addition, they were invited to participate within this congress to a rappid fire session where the most important points of this research is presented in just 50 seconds. This project is annexed to Research Project PE501078471-2022 – PROCIENCIA: Removal of heavy metals through the use of modified cellulose microfibers, extracted from endemic plants in Peru.   They also tell us: “We emphasize that none of this would be possible without the support of our consultant, the Director of Research, PhD Mónica Santa María Fuster”

We invite you to see the poster presented in the following link
